Manufacture and Up-Stream Technology
Today, resources of display and chips of Up-Stream have been
basically shared, and products of end-point brand share more
and more similarities, and the gap between Chinese brand and
foreign ones are undergoing a narrowing process. While, most
Chinese enterprises which lack technologies of middle
-stream and up-stream face a large obstacle of that the
profit is continuously decreasing. Under such circumstances,
it is an evident fact that Chinese enterprises need to
transfer from the main set manufacturer to explorers in the
up-stream areas. Yet, Chinese enterprises still have a long
way to go in the upstream technologies to improve the
overall industrial competitive power, for the Chinese FPD
industry is de facto not complete.
Why does the up-stream technology carry more added values?
The reason fall in the fact that only several magnates
monopolize the core technologies and the monopoly industry
has been formed. On the other side of the corn, the
difficulty of the inferior companies, which are intent to
take room in the upstream area, is that they have to not
only take great capital risks, but also shoulder the
pressure of fierce competition after the monopolized
industrial frame was destroyed. In the competitive market,
price is nearly the sole weapon to combat with other
competitors. Nevertheless, it is not an ease project for the
Chinese FPD manufacturers who are still in a beginning stage
to encounter the price war so early.
Monopolized industry comes from both the great capital and
the unique core technology. Thus, the Chinese FPD industry
certainly will focus on the panel technology and up-stream
technology.
The theme of the forum is “Focusing on Panel Manufacturer
and Up-Stream Technology”. After the debut of “Asian LCD
Industry Summit 2006 (Shanghai)” , the organizing committee
of “China FPD Manufacturing Forum 2007 (Shenzhen)” has again
got the support of Department of Electronics and Information
Product of MII , China Video Industry Association (CVIA),
and relative organizations of Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan
area, and Japan. It is organized by China Electronic
Appliance Corporation（CEAC）,and Nikkei Business
Publications, Inc.(Nikkei BP) to call for the Asian FPD
influential figures to discuss the upstream technologies,
and to further the development of the Chinese FPD Industry.
